As a Steady Career Consultant, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one, empathetic and professional career counseling to aid our Members in deciphering and selecting their preferred career trajectories. In this role, you will work to uncover Members’ prominent strengths to be highlighted, assist in discovering area’s for improvement that need to be addressed and prepare them for entry into their preferred career path.

  • Review Members' career-related aspirations, concerns, and pending roadblocks through a detailed consultation process.
  • Review Members’ skill level, educational background, industry experience and determine how to align it best with their immediate career path.
  • Guide Members through the completion of aptitude & personality tests and utilize those results to mentor Members towards their most ideal career opportunities.
  • Propose career specific options that are congruent with your supported insights about a Member’s specific strengths and/or area’s for development
  • Identify career-relevant KSA’s (knowledge, skills and abilities) for individual Members that need improvement and devise strategies to for training/development.
  • Assist with developing or enhancing resumes and cover letters, identify opportunities for employment and assist with the application and interview process
  • Prepare Members to meet with employers through extensive coaching and mock interviews.
  • Analyze existing Steady Member profiles to manage and grow their participation with Steady+ by initiating contact, identifying needs and selling appropriate products or offerings.

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Human Resources preferred)
  • 1-2 years of hiring and recruitment experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a strong plus, but not required.
  • The ability to analyze Members’ education level and work history to suggest potential career paths and set attainable goals.
  • Assist Members that are just entering the workforce, have lost their jobs, are unhappy with their career choices or experiencing other types of job stress.
  • The ability to match Members with jobs that will provide them with the greatest balance of financial payoff and job satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of ever-changing trends across dominant industries.
  • Familiarity with obscure yet accessible employment opportunities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent investigative, assessment, and communication skills.
  • Ability to equip Members with the skills required to enter their preferred career path.
  • Experience working in a startup environment (preferably technology driven) a plus but not required.
  • A strong sense of urgency to respond to Member inquiries in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • A strong work ethic combined with the willingness to fuel significant growth through internal feedback and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • The ability to assist the Engineering and Growth units with Member feedback related to platform and operational enhancements.
  • Analytical skills to track and report recurring Member concerns.
  • The ability to proactively provide applicable resolutions for existing & potential Member issues.
